"This panorama of Tiger Stadium on the Louisiana State University campus,
taken by Christopher Gjevre, highlights the action during a Fighting Tigers
football game. Tiger Stadium, nicknamed "Death Valley," has seating for over
92,000 fans and is known as one of the most dreaded road playing sites in
college football. Tiger Stadium first opened in 1924 and has a tradition of
primarily playing night games that began in 1931. One of the popular
attractions at LSU is to visit Mike, the live Bengal tiger mascot, who
resides in his habitat across the street from Tiger Stadium. Established in
1860, Louisiana State University is located in Baton Rouge and enrolls more
than 28,000 students."
